subwoofer furniture

I'm looking into making a subwoofer which will also be an end table, or something like that. I've seen a couple of designs for this, but was wondering if anyone has done this. Are there any extra issues that should be considered (aside from the fact that it'll probably be a really heavy end table!)?

I've only seen one kit:

but I believe this design could suffer from cone sag, is that right?

There have also been some references to doing this

(a couple other threads I can't seem to find right now)

Any thoughts you all have would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Dave

There is a picture of my sub and towers on Adire's website. Here's the link .
It's at the bottom of the page. Sorry my website link doesn't work anymore. I added a glass top to the table where the inset is on top. No rattles unless you set a drink on it.

Hi Dave,

The problem with endtable subs is that placement can be a little bit difficult, paticularly if you like sitting on the couch.🙂

You can see my endtables in this link. I just put them in the front corners of the room. And yes, they weigh more then 100lbs each.
