What would be the affect of building a subwoofer box that narrowed toward the bottom: Okay picture an upside down triangle, with the point, pointing down (like a "v" with a lid). If you put the subwoofer at the top, by the lid and the port at the bottom, by the point, what would this do to the sound?
Is this a no-no? Does it matter at lot, a little or not at all?

I think you'd be extremely hard pushed to notice a difference from a typical rectangular box. The only issue would be if the bottom part was very narrow and there was a bit of restriction on the free flowing of air around the vent.
