Just thought I'd ask if anyone has built this kit? I recently purchased it as I was thinking about the amp setup for a sub I've mostly built and started looking at linkwitz transform circuits and bridging amps... Which led me to the following.
Altronics Kit K5562 - This kit purports to provide automated on/off for your amp setup (VOX Circuit) as well as an adjustable low pass filter ( 4 pole active) and an option to filter freq's below 15hz, compressor limiting, and on/off thump circuitry. Altronics - K5562 Subwoofer Controller Short Form Kit
My questions are - has anyone built this? If so, any tips and suggestions? Part's mods? Circuit changes? The kit dates back to '95 so I figure there's bound to have been improvements since then!
Secondly, I'd like to build in a linkwitz transform circuit to the board too, but I'll need to work out where's best in the circuit to do so... I'm awaiting altronics to allow the circuit to be published here before I transcribe the circuit, and I have a reasonable guess about how to proceed, but I will hit my knowledge boundaries shortly here... 🙂
