I hope to learn much of diy! But also i want to learn english very well!
However an 18" subwoofer is too large for my room. It's 15 square meters, it's too small for this driver. I think it need of a large room for reproduce very low frequency..Is no it?

Hello cla89. Reproducing very low frequencies can be compensated by the volume and depth controls of the sw but then room size is always relative to the maximum depth you can attain with a sw. 18" will produce far low frequencies in a 15 sqm room but it may also be too boomy depending on the room's acoustics and your sound preference. I have a 10" sw in my 12sqm listening room that has heavy curtain on one side of the wall, just enough for the area and the sub does its job well so far. 10" will also work for a 15sqm room depending on how the cabinet will be constucted, where the driver will be placed at, and where the unit will actually be positioned in the room. Considering the spectrum, drivers as small as 4" can also be used depending on enclosure design as well desired bass pressure levels.

Do you intend to set up the sub with sattelites or use it as a separate with full range speakers? This will also matter since the bass spectrum will be much wider if the sub is used as a separate.

I'm building a subwoofer, the enclosure with manifold is made for a eighteen sound with VAS 149, and Qms 8,7, can i change it for a B&C withe VAS 253 and Qms 4.2? All the other caracteritic are realy near one each other.

The Qms is totally irrelevant for system design but the Vas value(+ fs and Qts) is a parameter that counts for a system design of a box, thus if you use the B&C driver in your manifold f-3dB will increase, i.e. the cut-off frequency...

That's a very potent speaker: Search a driver with very similar Qts,Vas and fs with a xmax
that will be sufficient for you SPL needs. You can easily simulate such an enclosure by using AkAbak or even Hornresp.

PS: The application is for sure PA/live or similar: I think you be better helped if DIYaudio members like Weltersys,Djk or tb46 other members having practical knowledge and built an enclosure like that could chime in and give you good advices.
