for my gcse project im making a sub box with a cross over circuit in the box aswell,
is there ne websites that i can use to help me?

There ought to be plenty of resources to assist with a passive crossover. (You will be limited to a passive crossover, unless you are also including an amplifier in the box, in which case, you can choose either active or passive.)
Good luck!
Good luck!
And to further explain the difference between active and passive, with an active type you have a separate amplifier for just the sub itself and this allows you to control the speaker much better and also cut the unwanted sounds more easily and effectively -- even making it adjustable.
If you use the passive way you run the sub off the main amplifier for the rest of the speakers you are using. This stresses the amp more and also limits your sub power to whatever your main amp is, and subs are usually much more power-hungry than main speakers. The parts used to build the filter to cut the unwanted sounds from the sub are much more bulky and may even be a bit more tricky to get. Also, there will be no easy way to adjust the cutting of unwanted sounds and also to match the volume of the main speakers.
A passive one may be your only choice if you can't get another amp though.
We can help you much better if you tell us what make and model sub you have. If you/we can find the numbers called Thiele-Small parameters for your sub then it will make the design a lot easier as we can model it in a computer program.
