Thank you for the generous offer, but I think I will stick with the dual 8's as I'm intrigued by this push push design. Plus, I enjoy building stuff.

With your push push design, could I make it like a dual transmission line or dual bandpass, or would that just make it worse?
Am I best to have just an empty box design apart from a little bracing, and of course the speakers themselves?
I wonder if I could secure the two subs together with threaded rod or solid rod at their mounting points so there is zero flex?
Push-push can be used in any kind of enclosure. Think of it as a compound driver, not a single. The key is the pysical position and tight coupling (KEF, in the first commercial PP that i know of, the 2 drivers were connected with a rigid stell rod).
