Anyone have a sub for the RCA 1A15 transistor on the FEB of an early Threshold 400a?
I'd like to stick with the TO39 case.
I've found:
2N5666S and 2N5667S but both are $25 to $30 each.
There is also the RCA 1A09 which would work .... but the min. order is 400.
Thanks for any help.

This seems to have been asked twice:
Use 2N3440 and 2N5415. Easily obtained cheap through distribution.

Thank you! I have a handful of both.
Just out of curiosity, the 400a FEB uses both of those, why not continue with another 2N3440 or 2N5415 instead of introducing the RCA 1A15?
Did it have characteristics that were more desirable for the application or was it as simple as there was a full box of them sitting on the shelf?
Thanks,
Eric M.
