Hi, I am trying to fix the amp board on REL q201e subwoofer. The transistor BF469 and zener diode got completely burned off. The transistor BF469 and BF470 are no longer available. What other equipment part can be substituted for this??

Now EOL ksa1381 or ksc3503 if you can find them.
Or kta1381, ktc3503 from profusion in the UK that are authorized to sell KEC. Ive tried them in my designs and they work fine

Farnell (the UK division of Newark) list the BF469 and BF470 in stock from Multicomp Pro which I believe is their in house low cost brand. But if I change the Country/Region to USA the Newark web site search doesn't find them. I don't know if they can be bought in the USA and also don't know if they are OK or not.
Any modern driver type of sufficient voltage, even flipping a TO-220 around. A subwoofer application isn’t some place where you have to worry if Cob is larger, either.
Multicomp literally could be anything similar. Usually they are second source from one of the Taiwan makers. Most of that stuff is actually pretty good. Ones I’ve used in the past have always worked. But worked and being a perfect replica are not necessarily the same. If you were expecting a 12 pF Cob, you might get the usual 20-30.

It looks like I have a lot to learn. I am going to order TTA004/TTC004 and MJE340/350 pairs and see how it goes, they are readily available from DigiKey. If it blows up, it's no big deal as it's already blown up in smoke 🙂. You are right, BF469/470 are available in other countries - also in Japan so I can order next time I visit my folks.
I'm guessing smaller Cob is better? I see BF469/470 are 1.8pF.
Thank you so much for suggestions!
