Sub inside speaker stands?

Hi all,
I just purchased some Audes 105's for 100$. Im very happy with them for the price. I need some speaker stands for them though. And if i was going to make stands, i figured why couldnt i put some subs in them somehow. If i can put them in the stands that saves my wife from having to look at the black subwoofer box..
Id like to get as low hz as possible... i like punch tight, low bass.. would it be possible to do like 8" subs in in the stands?
And how would i have to work the amp's and crossovers?

maybe this has been done already?
