Hi all~ Years ago, I used to use the Audio Technica AT813 mics, and instead of the 1 AA, I used to put in 2 smaller batteries that would slightly increase the voltage & improve performance. Does anyone recall what battery that might have been? BTW, because if the higher voltage, I was instructed to remove them when not in use...?
Thanks & be well~

Well, there is something called 1/2 AA battery size, search for them using that term or some "official designation" that matches.
You can also get Lithium full AA ones, microphone should stand 3 something volts with no problem.

Thnx, KM,, The only '1/2 AA' I could find are 3.6v each, & I don't think that would be to good,,, but i dunno & don't want to find out

Don't know why it says blocked, sent me to the link although I already was there. In any case try E90 batteries.

I didn´t say "use 2 x 1/2 AA Lithium ones in series" but suggested you use a single :Thnx, KM,, The only '1/2 AA' I could find are 3.6v each, & I don't think that would be to good,,, but i dunno & don't want to find out
You are already feeding 3V to that microphone, with a single full AA:Lithium full AA ones

That said, don´t know what´s inside that microphone, but ant regular Electret capsule definitely stands being fed from a 9V battery and I have sometimes fed them 12 or 15V with no damage, with no ill results.
Only consideration is to raise load resistor, from about 1k to about 4k7 or even 10k, whatever´s needed to get about half supply voltage across it.
Again, speaking about generic capsules, but in principle wouldn´t expect AT using anything "weaker".
Of course, safest is asking AT themselves.
