Sub Electrical Issue

I was moving my sub yesterday and touched the LFE cable where it connects to the Sub. I was electrically jolted the same as if I put my finger into an outlet. I am confused because I didn't think LFE cable would carry voltage.

Any help is much appreciated because I am afraid to use it now. I have attached a picture of my connection. Thank you!

If you have concerns over safety then it is only correct and proper to say that you should get it checked professionally... however as you have posted here my first thoughts are that you are experiencing 'leakage' (which is perfectly normal but equipment dependent) and most probably from any switching power supplies in any of the units.

The reasons why this happens are complex but do not normally indicate a problem. Although the voltage can be high, there is little current delivery behind it.

It was a very very common to be able to get quite a 'shock' from the voltage difference between a TV and the aerial plug for example, in some cases you could actually draw a small arc but this again was just normal leakage with no current delivery.

So that is what I think is happening.

Well, the sub isn't grounded. If the device at the other end of the cable is also floating then I suppose it could end up anywhere. Usually transformer capacitance will let any "ground" terminals to float to near half-mains.
