I am in the process of building the Adire Shiva 85L vented sub, Fb=20Hz. What is a good controler to use with it? (Suggested circuits if possible) My main system is vented speakers with Fb=44Hz. I want to use the sub for Home Theatre with a HT amp (80Hz sub out) and other wise also for normal hi-fi listening - tapping off from hi-fi preamp output.
I looked at some ESP projects, but they are all for sealed subs. I basically want to control the volume, the phase, the frequency cutoff and then for hi-fi - sum the 2 inputs and for home theatre - use single input from HT "sub out".
Thanx for any advice.

By "controller", I assume you mean crossover. If that's the case, I'm sure you can't go to far wrong with the Behringer DCX 2496 digital processor . The link is to a thread discussing its pros and cons.

Quit right, basically an active xover with at least volume control and adjustable freq. and able to stay flat down to 20Hz - so some equalizer feature also. A friend of mine got the Behringer DCX 2496. Very powerfull piece of equipment, but I was looking for something more in the line of DIY that I can build into same box as amp. The problem with existing DIY projects (like Rod Elliot's EAS or the Linkwitz Transformer) - is that they don't go well with vented boxes.
Well than, this thread may be what your looking for. It would be at least a good starting point.JDeV said:

How's this?
After plenty of searching, I put together this 1. It is a mixture of differant circuits I found (as you can see) - also some from Rod Elliot.
1. Can it all work together like this - in reality?
2. Is it neccesary for the corner filter?
3. How can it be improved?
Thanx again for all advice/info.
