Better off using a more efficient class D with a sub. Class A will work fine but there is no benefit.

I've used the F5 and BA2 on subs and they worked just fine with the 4ohm subwoofer (Dayton RSS315HF-04) I was using. Kept up with regular music just fine.
High level connection can be a bit more complicated with the fully complementary amps and with those that invert polarity, but not impossible. I've run subs high level at one time or another with about every Pass / First-Watt amp the factory has produced.
