I'm looking for a subwoofer amp that will allow the simultaneous connection of high-level inputs (from main speaker amps) and a low-level LFE connection. My desire is to use the sub for both 2-channel music and HT. I need to be able to set the crossover low enough to accommodate my main speakers for music. However, the LFE connection needs to bypass the internal crossover for HT use (since the crossover will be set by my processor).
What I am describing is essentially what the REL subs allow you to do. In a perfect world, I would also be able to indepently set the high-level and low-level inputs.
Anyone know of a sub amp out there that can do this? Anyone know if most sub amps that have a defeatable crossover keep it in the signal path of the high-level (speaker) inputs even when switched off?
Thanks.

you might want to consider an active crossover.
as for amplification, used pro or vintage amps can be had quite cheaply on ebay (perhaps soundcraftsmen or crown, .. if you just need a sub amp )
cheers
