What 48 volt prefab units are available out there that will put out 200-500watts into 8 ohms?
The 41hz Amp 7 and Class D Audio TI600 are the only ones I know of but I would love to find something under $100.

Check Connexelectronic
You might want to consult the TAS5630 datasheet before considering the TI600 board, power at 1% THD into 8 ohm is only 125W.

Thanks fb, studying the forum now.
Is the TA3020 v3a able to run straight off batteries? Will it run ok on 24v,32v,46v?
It is going to power a single Kapalite3015 @ 8ohms.

I have no experience running things from batteries but... 🙂
You might try a TC2000 + STA517B board:
41Hz Audio:AMP11-HV kit (50V)
Hifimediy (T3)
Or I think (not sure) you could use 2x 24V batteries in series with gnd at center to provide +-24V and use this one bridged:
Connexelectronic
Undervoltage protection is at 23V, you might have to ask Cristi whether it would work.
None of these options will get you anywhere near 200W into 8ohms though. You'll need a lower impedance driver, or a step-up voltage transformer.
