Sub/amp combo delima!

I aquired a Boston Acoustics C110 Subwoofer and I would like to use it in my home theater. I was wondering if it would be possible to run this 2ohm subwoofer/PR system on a PE 250watt subwoofer amplifier... the amp is rated at 4 ohms, is 2-ohm pushing it a little far? if it wont work, then what kind of options do I have? can I somehow make an aparent 4-ohm load?

It will work at low volumes but it's not recommended.

The best way to have a 4 ohm load would be to buy a second C110 subwoofer.

You can make a apparent 4 ohms load, but that would need a 2 ohms resistor rated at 125W... not recommended.

you could try it, but its risky.

If you are cautious and listen for any strain on the amp then it shouldnt be a big problem. Most people know what clipping sounds like and would rather listen to undistorted sound(or at least not something horridly distorted, so they turn it down when clipping occurs)

Simon is right, if you want a 4 ohm load, get another speaker. Otherwise be careful
