stuffing in ported cabinet

I've seen posts relating to stuffing in closed box designs (wool, fibreglass etc)

I'm assuming that this is not as important in ported designs, and I also assume there should be some "open space" in the cabinet to allow the air being pushed back by the speaker cone to come out through the port. (however, Im new to this, and my assumptions could well be wrong!)

My question is as follows, is it better to have the stuffing tightly packed, or more "fluffed up" in this type of design? and is a small amount enough?
