I hope some of you bright people can help me.
I have a Studiomaster 1000x powerhouse amplifier that has recently started playing up. I have had a search around and found similar issues but none than have the exact symptoms as mine.
The problems I have are as follows:
A loud pop when powering up and down!
System goes into protection mode when talking through mic (gain control is ok) intermittently!
System goes into protection mode when playing normal music (not loud or very bassy) intermittently!
Crackling sound in speakers when touching volume sliders, mute buttons etc!
Right hand speaker volume lower output than left, this issue will right itself if I tap on areas of the casing, or jiggle volume sliders or mute buttons side to side.
These issues are arising on all channels including the stereo input channel.
I have read a lot about dry contacts etc but was wondering if there were any other solutions possible

Well im no expert (my usual disclaimer) but some of the symptoms sound like they could be dirty pots/faders and/or bad connections to the pots (bad solder joints) . Though I don't know why the power amp would go into protection mode .
maybe try some deoxit to clean out the pots and faders in your mixer and see if that helps .
