Stripping a hami - help please

Hi,

I have read all the info I can find on stripping my Hami and have go to the point where all screws are out and I have the metal back plate removed. However, i am now a little confused.

Immediately facing me is a white sheet of thin material- i believe this the dialectric (?) back light but am not entirely sure?

Next come a clear piece of what appears to be glass or prespex - i am guessing this is the lcd itself 🙂

After removing this i get to another sheet of the white material - no ideal what this is.

Aling the top and bottom of the panel are what appears to be two power line type things; do these power the led or back light - they are driven by the seperate board with one connector from the main top edge PCB and with two connectors coming off them, one to the top power thing and antoher to the bottom.

Along the top and right of the lcd are the two main PCBS connected by a number of ffc type connectors - i am been extra careful with these!

Any help on what to keep; what to throw and generally what to do would be very appreciated!

Thanks,

Matt

Ok feel a bit stupid now 🙂

The glass was the backlight, the plastic films were just defusers for it. I went deeper and got to the panel itself, and it is now nicely supported in its frame.

Just waiting for my 30 cm FFC now (izzotek.com) so I can make sure i haven't messed it up and its time to start on my light box.

Thanks,

Matt
