What WntrMute2 said. I love the look of polished aluminum over the hard glare of chrome plate any day. I could never stand the custom Harleys that chrome plated everything including the engine parts. Just to much. Polish that engine and use chrome for a few accent pieces. Paint where needed.

I couldn't agree with you more!!
Polished alloys and stainless steel and copper are drool worthy! But even they can be over done, I like a generous black out, a good 85% should do. Some times the entire bike inc.block cylinders, the works. Polished raw metals are gorgeous and definately fit in there, agreed much nicer than even the finest chrome. Although fine chrome is beautiful on other peoples vehicles. 60's early 70 cars it should be mandatory for bumpers unless its pro stock. in that case it should be colour matched 😀 color matched where chrome would typically be on most other rides. What I really love even more is subtle brushed satin finish aluminum over black so flat it steals some gleam away from the moon.
I love copper too. I'm working on an accent piece I made of copper then Ill brush finish it that sits directly on matte black, the only shine on the entire thing. Its supposed to represent stonehenge I'll know weather I got it right at a later time.
I'm a bit opinionated with the matter at hand.
Keep up the good work.

Hey straight8s, post a picture of your project here when your done. Sounds like it's going to be beautiful.
I agree, brush finished and anodized aluminum can look just awesome and copper or brass looks great to if finished properly.
I got tired of chrome back in my teens when the chopper craze was full tilt. I was working in a custom motorcycle shop and saw enough chrome to last me a lifetime.
