Hi
I have a Daphile based PC into a USB DAC that I use for all my main room playback. FLACs are all stored on a local (USB) HDD and I am happy with the SQ
For convenience and multiroom reasons, however, I'm considering implementing a UPNP server (Asset running on headless Debian linux server) and using Daphile to play back the UPNP stream with Plug Player and Bubble as control points
Same DAC, same hifi, same PC, same everything else
So the question is (and at some point I will get around to actually trying this) is there likely to be any difference in SQ between local and streamed/UPNP based playback if all other aspects of the hardware/software chain are identical throughout?
😕
As always all and any contributions very gratefully received
