MT0 is EBF80, version 0. It looks a bit like some early EBF80s - later ones looked more like an extended EF80 with a silvery mesh screen rather than a solid grey screen. Commonly used in domestic 'short superhets'.

Yes, that squarish base is quite old. It is similar to that used on the 8-pin miniatures in the early 1950's - often the EBF80 would be the only 9-pin in an otherwise 8-pin radio. Later the 9-pin miniatures went to a more rounded base.
