Buildings a few simple channel strip units (pre/eq/comp) from parts i had stored. The builds will lean to the unconventional & artist side -- using up as many tubes & iron i can -- I greatly invite "over-done" designs. I will post the Audio Transfos below & will check-in later today with the valves.

using gyraf & ian bell thompson sections
*we will do a much more SIMPLER design for pre + eq.
pre:
no pad, phase, line, di - none (even considering dropping the phantom power)
60db of gain via stepped switch
*attenuator (as on HAIRBALL LOLA)
eq:
low-pass w/high shelf
via capacitor substitution box + variable transformer for inductance
comp:
Ian Thompson Bell Poor Man's Tube Comp/Lim *2012*
*Ian will be putting out a new version of this he has prototyped which will be the version used

I would like to make a 2-channel strip where the signal chain is identical except the input transformers (HA-100X + TMB156 ...which I’m not certain is even an input transformer by ALTEC LANSING)
The reason for making this so complicated is so I can use it as two separate voice channels for Powering (2) SM7B — however also be able to for out my DAW into (2) inserts into the compressor section — using the stereo compressor in this unit (The poor mans tube compressor by Ian Thompson Bell)
Can anyone tell me about the:
ALTEC LANSING TMB156
TRIAD B-6300 output transfo
Thank you

Would like to use the (2) small antenna current gauges to give a read out of the maybe the heater current & the HT supply current. Just as a visual gimmick. But done correctly so it’s not cheesy as this project is intended to be a respectable build with an over the top artistic flare — still, quality & correctness come first as always.
10H & 7H chokes available
*would love to integrate the 7ohm 165W resistor
*80MFD 450W.V. Cap might be dried up - testing now
*want to design a very “clever” looking supply of old parts but presented nicely for the eyes

I want to hear my eq in real-time. So I tapped in the capacitor box & then the variable transformer as our coil. With 11k &16k shunt resistors. Whatever I grabbed randomly. Sang through it and turned some knobs. Enjoy the sound very much. Only had buzzing in the variac on one end of the extreme turns left or right. but when The capacitor box then was altered it would go away.
