I knew the human-new-whaki-umani-wasabi-something Anakin were behind that ! Strange there was not a Marvel movie yet about that where France being behind a plot !
I visited Stonehenge in the days when you could actually walk among the stones, touch them and even sit on them.
Nowadays, you cannot go beyond a rope fence bordering a footpath (except during special access visits which only take place outside public opening hours (i.e. at dawn or dusk).

Like you I also experienced that but with todays apparently necessary restrictions I would not put effort in going there. The drawbacks of mass tourism... I also visited Rome and the Trevi fountain was then accessible although the silly habit of throwing coins was popular like elsewhere in the world. An even more silly and also shallow habit is the leaving of massive amounts of padlocks (locks of love....) which already has made a bridge in Paris collapse. Today environmental activists throw charcoal in the water of the Trevi fountain to make the world a better place 🙂

I suppose that if 5000 years ago all you had was Stones to preserve Astronimical observations, you had to go with that!
These days we have moved far on...
Let me present to you the Apple Macintosh:
Evidently a ripoff of the Xerox Parc Computer.

But brought computing to the masses. Your mobile phone is based on this simple idea.
Best Regards from Steve (system7) in Southsea, UK. System7 being the best operating system of Apple.

Since it was renovated in 1901 and in the 50s, and possibly modified during it's use, do they really know what it originally looked like? I think there's some theory that it was some kind of crush trap for animals, but there's probably as many theories as for the pyramids...

It (7.6.1) is the last operating system that supported the best spreadsheet ever (which none of you have ever heard of).

Except in Italy since the Italian alphabet has only 21 letters doing without J, K, W, X and Y while h is not a proper letter but merely a modifier for the preceding C or G and as such does not exist as a capital letter. 😉LOL
And Pi starts with P which is the 16th letter of the alphabet.
Using numerical positions in the alphabet as a common denominator.
We can precisely calculate horse race winners using the apex of each
stone according to the current calendar. By standing in the middle and
whispering and then adding the delay time to the wind howl variation
the winner should be very clear.
The most sublime conjunction of the beautiful Italian language (something I never mastered...) and our more accurate Shakespearean Anglo-Saxon is this, IMO:
Miss Sarajevo. Bit of Balkan thrown in too if I understand it. I think it works at every level. Eno, Bono and Luciano Pavarotti. They mean it. Which is everything. 🙂

I love stories like this. I'd love to think that, on pub night at the university, after a few pints researchers try and come up with the most fanciful research project that they can and bets are laid on if they will get funding for it.
