I am building my first speaker cabinet, i have two 5' Midtones with tweeters and one 12' Subwoofer. The problem is how do i get stereo sound on that subwoofer???
SG,
The easiest way to deal with this is to buy a plate amp. The channels are summed, the XO frequency is variable, the gain is varible to balance with the rest of your system and it all costs only a little more than a good passive crossover does. I don't know what coils and caps cost in Norway but in Canada you can spend almost as much on the wiring as you do on the drivers.

Theory is that "sound" under 125hz or so is not directional, so what you want to do is just put the sub somewhere where everything sounds right.
Personally, I prefer dual subs.

stereo subs
If you are making records or listening to 'pop' music... probably 99% of the time a single subwoofer is fine.
You got a kick and a bass guitar that are usually in the center - unless you're listening to those wacky stereo Beatles mixes.
Perhaps listening to movie soundtracks might be another thing, but since I don't involve myself in that medium, I don't know.
The '.1' (i.e., 5.1, 7.1) indicates that you have only a single sub-channel.
If you are NOT using some sort of 'bass management' system two subs would be great - of course with the proper crossovers.
I think it all depends on your application.

gday!
I think 100 Hz and less waves has not direction of sound sourse.
therefore 1 sub should be cheaper, not double room needed, free for some distorsions...., it's good solution.
moreover, very difficult to synchronize 2 subs for 1 room.
which sub do you need?! you have to do very hard choice.
