I'm in eurorack modular world.
A company has something I need, a 4 to 2 mixer.
4 mono inputs to 2 "stereo" outputs.
(schematics below)
They offer 2 types of modules...
MIX 01 is mono to 2 gain pots (adjust the two pots for "stereo" pan.)
MIX 02 uses one gain pot, and one pan pot.
What would be the advantages about one versus the other ?
Here are the two schems (open source)
MIX 01.....

...and MIX 02
Mix/DualPanningMixerRev02-schematic.pdf at master * pingdynasty/Mix * GitHub
Advice please.... THX.

The MIX02 gain/pan would be much easier to use in practice.
Thanks Rayma.
One reason I just heard, is that with the dual gain pots (MIX 01) if the signal on L or R is routed somewhere else, that (L or R) signal can be individually controlled without affecting the other.
The puzzle gets clearer.

Yes, but is that worth it to you, considering the otherwise clumsy mixing?
Undecided.....
Dual gain pots (R/L) are probably not worth it to most people, esp in a synthesizer.
However, in my HiFi preamp builds over the years, I have gotten used to these "dual mono" pots, as that's the way I built them, and used them for years.
2 Mono pots have been more accessible to me because I inherited a stash of 50k Noble audio pots years ago.
....and hence, I never really pondered the difference until now.
