stereo 3 inch tang band computer speakers - two drivers in each speaker - W3-881SJF ?

Actually the speaker in this configuration would have 12 ohm nominal impedance.
I think all the drivers should receive the same power though.
One in the front and two in the back.
The 8 ohm driver in the front receives half the power of the two 8 ohm drivers that make a 4 ohm load, no?
Still not sure it's a good idea though 😕

Lol, no.
Give up.
;-)
I'd say go with your first idea. Most amps will be able to handle 4 ohms.
Keep it simple.
What you are proposing now has the scent of biggerism or second system syndrome.
Build the first system first and then judge from that.

No I meant go with your idea of two 3 inch drivers per cab. At an angle of 90°.
Looks like your setup will be good with it. You will of course have to experiment with the angling of the speakers once they are finished. Placement and toe-in is very important.

With your 2-monitor setup, are you sliding back and forth between the two or sitting in the middle?

My suggestion is sit in the middle, angle both monitors toward you, and have a single-element speaker on each side pointed directly at you (which is exactly what I am sitting in front of right now, and also at home).

With your two speakers pointing straight out and so far apart, and sitting close to the monitors, no wonder they don't sound right.

And where do your legs go with that "desk"?

lol "desk"
They just go to the side or straight into it 😀

I sit mostly right in front of the right speaker.
Sounds like I need to figure something out.
I wish I could put speakers under the monitor(s).

Okay I will try it, I think.
I have to go with a LM3886 amp and not LM3875.
I know I like the sound of the LM3875 because I used to have one, but I don't know about the LM3886. Also LM3875 look a little simpler.
Can I do 16 ohms per channel?
I can also make a 4 channel amp.

I'm kind if thinking of a 2-way also.
Vifa 1" neo-tweeter and 50 cm^2 driver or 95^cm woofer or somewhere in between.

But I like the 3-inch driver setup most I think. I tend to listen at low volume most of the time, but I like a lot of bass. Never cared for highs or music with a lot of highs.

I'm building some two-ways, but waiting for the drivers for the 2-ways I slapped together these 3 inch speakers.
Not bad, I generally like them, but a design with two drivers in each box about 30-45 degrees with respect to each other I think would have fix some typical problems 3 inch drivers have, dispersion and extra surface area for my system, but also FR for non-EQ'ed systems, at least for my taste.
That box would have been much harder to build though.
Any one have smaller grills? 🙂

I had under/over 4" tang bands (5" frame) and had to use pennies to level them sitting 12' away. Those were directional 4's though (deep cone)..............

but with a focused 12 driver (4", 5" framed) you could be above/below sweet spot and the sound was fine (but not best).

But, go ahead and try it.

We talk more here than do, I'm guilty also.

Them's fightin words

A box with two woofers 30 degrees offset take too long to make.
That's why I didn't make it.
My head is about 3 feet from the right speaker.
Also I wouldn't want to make the speakers any taller.
I built these waiting for some tweeters for my 2-ways I started and now I like these due to their size and shape.
They have poor dispersion horizontally and could use a little more output.
I also thought about putting a tweeter in the front and two woofers on the sides, but the right speaker would have to go somewhere else.
