Very nice buy. Looks like the kind anal staples used to sell for alot more than that till he switched to icecap brand. I'm looking forward to seeing your retorfitted ai-1000 (and how it will compare to my hp-a305/my old unretrofitted ai-1000 🙂) One tip though im sure every one has been talking about, get a triplet lens! It really makes or breaks the setup 🙂. Good luck.

ballast Attained...

OK.......i received Ballast 2 mins ago...while in the bathroom....err any ways its here....AND with NO power plug...great...
now i have to buy a power plug AND an HQI sockect...you know what...i think im just gonna sell this bastard for more and raped buyer on shipping(NON forum members 🙂) and get enough $ to buy DIYlabs complete set....

this ballast is pretty cool lookin though..itr from hellolights the 139$ one 🙂

Negative (or anyone else),

A real newbie question.. for that 250w ballast, could you run 150w bulbs off of it? Or do you strictly have to get 250w bulbs?

RETROFIT ....successful...=..Wo0t!

i just finished installing the HQI 2day into my Apollo AI-1000 OHP and after some hard work and sweat... i've FINALLY achieved what i aimed to do MONTHS ago..ahh it feels good to do something right lol

I see a difference with the light exchange its brighter yes but not by much, the biggest difference from the DYS is not the brighness but the color..i THINK my HQI is 3200K and yet it WHITER then a MUTHA @#$! lol 🙂

now that my HQI retrofit is done im gonna sell my panel(for REAL this time! lol) my next aim is to get an LCD monitor 😎

oh BTW this doesnt get hot for at LEAST 20 mins unlike DYS which get max heat at 5-7 mins
