Steel Angle as Toroidal Transformer bracket - Steel thickness?

Well maybe you’re creating a nice shielding effect using the thick steel.
Is good engineering to utilize a single component to accomplish more than one thing.

If it will be oriented to take advantage of that anyways…

Is such a section likely to provide much useful shielding?

I would have thought that the section would have to run the full length of that amp chassis to be a useful shield?

This was my planned orientation, with dummy psu board showing its location.

Is this going to be better? Amp stage added in the back ground for clarity.

I would think the second picture is how I would proceed. Might want to give it a trial run before attaching anything permanently though.
