Stax SRM-252S amp upgrade

great topic, I'm surprised that no one writes comments, a lot of work has been done

comparing the sound of a transistor amplifier and an adapter on transformers - which one do you like best?

do you also find the sound of transistors to be slower but more accurate?

I listened to this and that and I must say that I like transformers more

It seems to me that transistors simply do not have time to quickly open and close.

Thanks for your comments. I'm surprised, too.

So much depends on individual design execution, there are too many variables at play for me to comment on such a general question. Can you be more specific?

I will say that I'm generally more comfortable using xfmrs on inputs than outputs.

??? Hmmm... are transistors slow? Audio sits at the bottom of the frequency spectrum. I've never been comfortable attributing subjective connotations of "speed" to it.

Are you saying, you did the mods to a 252S and you like your xfmr more?

It seems to me that transistors simply do not have time to quickly open and close.
That describes an unbiased situation, not what is happening in a Class A circuit, though.
