Hi, found a stax omegas2 to have a holes burnt in foils. Weirrd thing is, holes are not in center, but offset.....😕 about 5mm diameter-stators have there dark color.

How to proceed? I guess original bias rings with foils are not to be sold separately. Or maybe expensive.

I read a few threads about those drivers, some people after trial and error making it happen.
Found in local shop a mylar sheets 5microns, clear or metallised (scratchable with fingernail) Which one is better for transducers?
Your opinions?

clear is better 🙂 but for headphones maybe thinner is even better , you cna order 1 3 6 on ebay look for esl mylar or electrostatic mylar. buy a decent coating like licron crystal. and off you go. before you tear the old ones check if you can figure out what the resonance is.

The thinest I have ever obtained is 1.5um (.06mil) polyester, stock #90 from Chemplex. 🙂

I also have some 2.5um (.10 ml) Mylar stock #100 that I made my Micro ESl out of.

It worked great and I used heat for tensioning.

Their stuff only comes in 2.5" and 3" widths.

I used licron for my coating.
