Hi people.
I have this record that I bought its mint looking but seems to be full of static. It has those silly sleeves with the plastic on the inside and it crackles like a bugger. Without buying a milty zerostat or other bizare equipment is there any way I can remove the static build up ?
regards

And be prepared for the bad news that much of that "static" isn't actually static but damaged vinyl. But a good cleaning will work wonders and get you the best that the disc can give.
The standard carbon brushes often have a metal body this is done so that some static can be drained.
