Hello,
I want to put my ESL63s on stands. SDQ63 stands are no longer available and rarely found used.
I found an iron shop that can make me a pair. I have the width and depth but I need the inner height. Per a photo that I have it looks like the vertical bars are approximately 2½" [63.5mm] by 2" [50.8mm] and all the other parts seem to be made of 2" [50.8mm] steel.
Would any owner send me the correct specifications?
Thanks much in advance,
Horacio

I have a set of them, I like them a lot better than the arcici stands which mess up the grille cloth and can deform the aluminum extrusions on the side of the speakers. They do give the speakers a weird "floating" look that I'm not overly thrilled about either. I keep meaning to build a set of "H" frame subwoofer enclosures that fit under the quads (same footprint) with curved fronts and back with grille cloth. But I keep doing other projects instead of that one.
The main members are 1" x 1" fairly thin walled square tubing (I'm guessing about 0.0625" wall thickness). The vertical member is 2" x 1".
The stands are 8.25" high from outside top to outside bottom.
I'll be glad to take pictures or more measurements if you'd like. As you can see by the holes in the top, they screw into four of the existing holes that hold the base covers on. You can use your base cover as a template for size and shape. Drop me an email if you'd like more info, pictures etc: stokes@quadesl.com

Thanks Sheldon, your answer is exactly what I was looking for. I built a set of teak stands back in 1982 when I bought my first pair of 63s but they are long gone now. The vertical members were 4 x 2, the top and bottom were solid 1" pieces like the base covers.
I do have photos of the SDQ63 stands but thanks for the offer.
Best regards,
Horacio
