I’ve search around and seen couple of coments about stacking DAC chips..!!??!!..
Would having a 2 or more staked DAC (one on top of each other ?) chips make a improvement in the sound ??
Thanks
🙂

To stack or not to stack, that's the question
Depends on the chip itself if it is possible technically. Common ( but mostly temporarely ) practice with TDA1543's and I even saw a cd player once with stacked PCM63's. Kusonoki, the guy that started this non os thing, tried it but in his later designs he used only one TDA1543.If you have a DAC or cd player with these chips you can try it.
My advise ( for what it's worth ) : it's a waste of time and money.
The chips are NOT designed for this I would like to add.
It has some positive effects ( bass slam ) but the negative ( high tones were better before ) overrule them.
Oh oh, I have to run now

What are the conditions that make the DAC eligible to be stacked??
My player has PCM66 😕 I can not find any references about the chip anywhere so i have no idea how good the chip is supposed to perform...and since i have a extra chip i though to maybe go ahead and try....

Are you sure that these are PCM66 ? I know PCM56,58,63,67,69 but 66 I can't find in my pile of BB datasheets 😕

I stacked 2 PCM 1704 K in my DAC. Initially I didn't like the effect, but after shielding the chips with copper foil and shielding digital and analog parts of the board the was improvement. More info here: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3117&highlight=parallel+dacs
thank you Peter for the link, that is the kind of info i was looking for..(but i search for stacked instead of paralel...🙄 )
if anyone has info about the pcm66..please let me know...
thank you all.... 😉
