Stacked PCB connector ideas ?

I have new solid state amp in mind, and just from looking at the block diagram, I can see that I (due to size limitation) need to stack the VAS stage PCB on top of the Output section PCB.

The distance between the stacked PCBs must be 15-20mm (0.6-7.9"). The signals going through the connector are mixed control signals, low Current audio and power signals (max 1A).

Is there out there who knows of some good audio "PCB to PCB" connectors ? I have thought of just making wire connections, but would like the easyness of the connector type connection.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi friend Jan

I have used many times those pin strips gold plated. Simply you can broke each pin from the strip to use it seperately. I don't know if you want the pcbs will be pluged between them so as can seperated easily. Me, i preffer to solder the pins in each pcb for the purpose to avoid any parasitic capacitance. You know what i mean.
Also, take a look in Farnell site, there are gold plated Molex as i remembered.
Also in "Selectronic.FR" site, there are many types of gold plated connectors and other goods for audio use. It is a nice store.

Hello fotios 😉

I do know these gold plated pin headers (use them a lot for jumper purposes), however I havn't came across ones that are long enough (20mm). However the short pin headers may be used, if the receiption is a vertical connector like on the attached picture (however I do not need this big space between PCBs.
Thanks for the link 😉

I'll grab a few for you from the shop when I go on Monday... They definatly have them in longer versions, I think the long one is about an inch... It has two plastic strips to keep the pins seperated over the full lenght, instead of just the one strip at the base...

Waith they must be even longer, as I found a small piece from the medium sized pins... and they are 22mm

P.S. super neat pins in your picture...
