Are there any (dual) stabistor diodes in production suitable for biasing output stages in SS amps that are not in SMD package? Something like MZ2361.
These were quite popular in the '70s, but I don't think any have been made for quite a while. At least I have never heard of any other replacement option than a bunch of 1N4148s or similar. I guess people started using Vbe multipliers in new designs, and that was that. Besides, the reliability track record of this kind of diodes hasn't exactly been stellar.
sgrossklass,
Thank you for reply. I saw an old schematic with it and liked the simplicity of that biasing method. I was interested if such components are still in production.

Did you find your MZ2361s? How many were you needing? I have some and you are welcome to a few if you still need them. bill@cohutta.com
