I read in Douglas self book that using multiple pairs of output transistors will reduce the THD substantially. Now the point is in order to match one transistor we probably need to waste 4 of them. Now lets consider for a psu +/-53V supply can we use 4 transistors with different beta values instead of just using 1 pair would that be good enough to get better THD?
In general what about the stability issues with multiple pairs of transistors like 8 pairs or 10 pairs with beta matched to 10%

You will want to match them in order to gain the anticipated THD benefits. Stability should not be an issue. It's usually a matter of cost.
