Could an ssm 2142 which is an IC from a unbalanced input to a balanced line driver could be the basis of a class AB amplifier ?
meaning that + out and - out will drive VAS then drivers+ vbe + output ?
Here is the datasheet of the 2142

That chip looks perfectly capable of driving the outputs (if Darlingtons) directly. Maybe something like this?

Most probably, if outputs were power MOSFETs a 220R gate stoppers is all that is needed - no VAS.

Hi Sakis,
This can be a decent phase splitter for arranging a BTL amplifier (bridged). For driving the VAS or the drivers, you don't need the inverted signals (180 deg to each other) - that's what you get at + and - outputs of SSM2142.
Cheers,
Valery
