Does anyone ever tried to open SSG silver mica caps?
Thanks for tips. I want to put them in a wax/wood.

I would not do that. Caps are sealed to prevent moisture, corrosion and failure. If you open it, it could come unwound, or lead to premature failure.
You could just embed the case in your proposed way.

Yes. If you cast a wax case around them they will not vibrate as much as the will without the wax case. A less resonant capacitor is claimed do be better/quieter/less affecting the signal than a more resonant. This can be explained by the fact that capacitance is a function of distance between the foils, if a mechanical wave (sound, vibration) alter the distance between the layers the capacitance alters as well, and that is the reason why no one use crappy ceramic Z5U capacitors, their capacitance vary with the voltage. But in this case the capacitor probably is OK already so the gain is'nt huge. But we are all looking for somethin better, aren̈́'t we?
Thanks. It makes sense. I'll give it a shot and open one. There should be no fluid etc.
They sound so smooth at the output.

That's a 350V 0.1uF AgMica, and 5% tolerance. I purchased these for bypasses from SOVCOM:
4 pcs 0.1uF 0,1uF .1uF 500V 2% Silver Mica Capacitors KSG-2 Russian New NOS | eBay
They are 500V 0.1uF and 2% for better value regulation.
A lot of Russian NOS caps may have fluid in them, including what are called PCBs as the Russian stuff used the good materials before regulatory issues came into play made pre-war. They are sealed for a reason, and you could be harmed if you open them.
Be careful,
