The threaded end makes me think is a feedthrough capacitor. Measure the resistance (yes resistance, not capacitance) across the two ends. If it remains basically zero then it is a feedthrough type and the 1uF is between the conductor that runs from one end to the other and the case. It is used to filter RF from a signal passing to or from a shielding enclosure.

i am not an expert on Sprague, but my guess is that these caps do not differ that much between manufacturers.
A Siemens/Epcos feedthrough has a metalised polypropylene di-electric.
Such caps are made up till 4.7uF.
