Hi, I just bought a preamp with a "Main Out" but need two outputs. I do not have a tape player and am wondering if it would be detrimental to run a wire from the board from the main trace to the "Tape Out"?
If you first disconnect the present connection to the tape out, it's ok to use the jack for something else.
In the unlikely event this causes hum, you might have to change the ground connection as well,
but wait and see.

It depends on the equipment, assuming this is not a tube preamp.
If the total loading on the preamp is 10k or higher, there won't be a problem.
If the two loads in parallel are much less than 10k, there could be some loss of bass, etc.

Ok, then it depends. What are the two output loads?
Also, what is the value of C8?
If C8 is 1uF, the preamp can handle a total loading of 8k for a bandwidth of -3dB at 20Hz.

Don't forget you could just use a couple of Y connectors, instead of rewiring the tape out jacks.
