Hi All,
I am about to purchase a spirit/soundcraft powerstation; the older model without the "power" written on the top cover. Example: http://medias.audiofanzine.com/images/normal/soundcraft-powerstation-600-543084.jpg
I am pretty sure it's fit for my application and I have used Soundcraft mixers before, but I wonder if there are any opinions on reliability. Specifically of the power amplifier.
Surely I'm going to test the mixer before purchase, but any opinions on these Powerstations is greatly appreciated.
FWIW: asking price is approx. 110 USD. Thanks!

Do you know who services them officially? I have one that has been running for about twenty years*, and it's starting to get a bit hummy (smoothing caps drying out, at a rough guess) and then last week one of the power amps gave up (I did the show in mono. I don't think anyone noticed. It's all conventional circuitry, so I can probably mend it myself - but I do like having a circuit diagram (which wasn't with it, even when it was brand new.)
Websearch gave me 'Sound Technologies', but they haven't responded to an e-mail. Have to bring it upstairs one of these days and open it up.
Oh, and I'm in the UK now - have to edit that location.
*Sans panne jusqu'ici, qui veut dire que le fiabilité n'est pas mal (sourire).

I don't know who services them "officially" but any competent tech with a schematic can service it. There is nothing unusual inside, it is just a powered mixer. I used to have my shop next door to a PA company and retailer, and he sold a lot of them. I serviced many without being official.
