345.6 is a direct relationship to the second, the meter and a pendulum swung on one second at 1 meter(86.4hz) length(39.37'')....(equator to mag north thru paris as 1/1000000 the distance to a standard unit) as a result this was a standard set by the french(??doubtful) long ago until magnetic north was found mobile.... yet that unit remains as well as the function of )0.866, 1.732... in trigonometry and cm^2/inch conversions and unts of measure and the Astronomiccal unit via the pythagoreum theor....

its not claiming any thing for any reason except it makes it incredible easy to notice the harmonics if using them to an advantage in a TL or HIGHER ORDER version

maybe looking at 346.4 vs 345.6 vs 314.16 or 360 in the pipe resonance calculator(hyper physics.com) wil help show something that MR Fahey cant grasp?

i use it all the time(temp, or speed) and doing measurements at temps near 23C coincidentally in an elcosure that reveals all of its harmonics as a dual ofset entry qw pipe in parallel revealed something strangely unique
If you mean the calculator in the link below, then the speed of sound is obtained by entering the temperature of the air, and can't be entered directy:

Sorry I don't see any point here.
there are no decimal points there are no extra digits that run on forever in frequencies that would fall directly into wave links put into a transmission line and it becomes simple to find out harmonics precisely and to build accordingly.

The speed of sound is going to change regardless but at least you’re not chasing decimal points and can practically do it all in your head.

where it really shines is when you’re aligning high order closures and the only reason I even notice this was having to deal with all kinds of decimal points and junk over and over again when I could just simply make it easy and convenient

300cm
28.8hz
150/57.6
100
86.4hz
75/ 115.2
60
144

that’s my band with now 28.8 to 144… but looking at the details and how it’s laid out it’s simple as a result.

360 cm as a single fold trading from 30 and 330 from opposite ends. The exit falls at 270/90 But there’s 300 cm between the driver and 60 cm of offset and the bandwidth ran up to 144 instead of 864but there’s 300 cm between the driver and 60 cm of offset and the band was ran up to 144 instead of 86.4..

It’s kind of peculiar but interesting to look at the details of horn response at what frequency all line up as defined by even and odd hold Manniit’s kind of peculiar but interesting to look at the details of horn response at what frequency all line up as defined by even and odd harmonics.

taking that apart and recognizing what those numbers are and where else they exist in nature and science and trigonometry etc. and there’s a whole Nother level to which explains the details of that frequency response at the same time.

it’s awkward to have somebody people with such a poor attitude toward something that was merely suggested in order to share something that might be more interesting once you look.

There’s a connection here besides that he looked deeper into it every single number bythere’s a connection here besides that he look deeper into it every single number 1÷2.54 I said a decimal points that are in a sequence they are always stating a sequence there never random.

its strange…

345.6 is 8÷2.54(3.1496) x 360.

doesn’t mean anything unless you look at what 346.4 is …

86.4 vs 86.6

90 cm in inches is
35.43307086614173228(3464)5692…
180cm in inches 70.86614173228(3464)566929….
360 cm is
141.73228(3464)566929133858267716535433070866(repeats)
720 cm
283.464(566929133858….

88/2.54 is 34.64566929133858 use it as speed of sound and It’s the math Constance for trigonometry in universe cosign or something It’s the math Constants for trigonometry (inverse cosine is 0.866, 1.732, 0.577, .707, etc abbreviated?

30* is cos 0.866(pi/6 0.5236)

cosine of 60* is 1.732 sin is 0.866(pi/3 1.0472)

those are the same units used for driver entry points on the offset driver transmission line of 300 cm.

300 x 0.3490658 is 104.72.
That’s the first pressure note for the hour harmonic and three of those are 104.72 cm, 209.44 cm and 314.16cm outside of pipe.

whats the 4.72, 9.44, 14.16 extras?( 270, 540, 900?)

(0.3490658 1/x) is 2.864788975
(104.719/195.2802 (1/x) is 1.864788975

I don’t know that works do you have two identical numbers in infinite decimal points ?

This whole area is weird athis whole area is weird as F@ck dig into it even though it’s just trigonometry essentially?

everything‘s associate with 864 866, 86400,

(864)^2 plus (sqrt3 x 864)^2 is (864x2)^2

864 is the frequency filled up perfectly in the 1/4 pipe using driver entry point…. but I can’t figure out where the other harmonic numbers come from?

what is 30 cm from each end as in 05236 which is half of the 104.70 in a parallel high order qw pipe?

0349

0217
0424
06
0712
0848?

it’s just a whole bunch of cool stuff for some of us to play with high order quarter wave and closures and try to dissect what’s going on….

too much fun for MH Fahey…i guess you just buy speakers

why wouldn’t there be a generic standard just like there is for the speed of light?
The reference value used in Hornresp is 344 metres per second, the speed of sound in dry air at 20 degrees Celsius and standard atmospheric pressure. There would have been little point in using as the reference the speed of sound in beryllium for example, which is 12890 metres per second... 🙂.

Air huh?

What´s wrong with all 118 elements in the periodic table?

Why not the speed of sound in other gaseous mixtures?

We are but a TINY backyard Planet, if anything I´d use mighty Jupiter atmosphere: Hydrogen-Helium, THAT would be a good reference standard.

Sorry I don't see any point here.
Does the word "trolling" ring a bell? 😉

I'm waiting for 5471.
Look again, it´s there 😉

too much thinking and not enough I guess... change the horn resp model to 345.6 (or 346.4) and look at 1600. 800, 400, 200, 100, 50 25, 12.5, 6.75, 3.375m pipes and

the difference between sq rt of .75. and sq rt of 3, 22/2.54, 44/2.54 ?

sq rt of 746496 and sq rt of 2985984.

the mere fact nobody even knows :

8/2.54
4/2.54
2/2.54
1/2.54

as

180(pi)
90
45
22.5

with the added info

3000 & .1496
1500 & .748
750& .374
375 &.187 (3750/7).1/x is).018666666...
187.5&.935

pi/6 and pi/3 put the driver on location in the 300 cm qw pipe...using pi/9.

wheres Martin King, even he uses this number (0.3490658) which has a reciprocal identical(-1) to its resulting split in the results of its use (differnece in lengths of the 300 x.3490658)

104.72/195.28 =(1/x) 1.864788975
0.3490658 + (1/x) 2.864788975

300cm 28.8
150cm 57.6
100 cm 86.4
75 cm 115.2
60cm 144
50 cm 172.8...

freq are also degrees and once it makes sense its all available to see in horn respeonce (calibrated at 86.0 hz to 86.4) and 344.0/345.6.... and the correction per unit of increase (.1 at215, .2 at 430, .4 at 86.0, .8 at 172.0, .16 at 344.0 is hiding in this as well

1/2.54 vs 39.37, in the same sequence
