I have to wonder how the original owners never noticed.. LOL
I have a 3 way home brew all active system and I worked hard to get the phasing correct between all the drivers on each channel - something sounded wrong most of the time until it was all fettled - in my case it was complicated getting the crossover set up correctly, and the gains all matched reasonably well. DSP to take care of the remaining issues, but did not work satisfactorily until everything else was sorted out.
This stuff will drive you crazy until it is correct, when it finally is you'll know it.
I've heard the original Heresy and the Heresy II, don't remember what if anything was different about them.
