Hello,
Can some one please advice me. I bought a pair of Acoustics Energy Aegis Evo Ones a couple of years ago.
These speakers can be bi-wired, but I only run one set of speaker cable to the amp.
Today I found out that the connections on the back, that there is no link between the two sets of speaker terminals. I am not sure if the link was meant to be there or was it in the box, I have no idea.
The speaker sound ok to me, but was wondering if the two set of speaker terminals are connected inside or not (but that doesnt make sense, if you want to bi-wire the speakers).
I tried to hear any vibrations form the tweeters, but could'nt feel any.
Is it possible to buys these links? As I dont intend to bi-wire my speakers.
Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks
Girish

Thanks for that idea.
Could I just use a piece of wire, stripped the ends off and attach it to the binding post? Would that be safe?

Just tried some electric flex and linked the HF and LF.
Can't believe I was listening to my speakers without the tweeters working🙁
I will try to look for the links in the box the speakers came or I will get sum thick copper wire tmrw.
Maybe I will biwire my speakers in the near future.
Thanks guys for your advice.

Bi wire does nothing. Bi amping with electronic crossover does. That is the purpose of the dual terminals.

Nope.
The two terminals indirectly connected to each driver by way of passive cross-overs are there because some of the market expects it, nurtured by cable and amplifier companies that would rather sell them four channels worth of goods instead of two.
While passive and active bi-wiring don't accomplish much (if anything that's perceptible provided the additional hardware isn't being used as a tone control), it is that most that's practical for consumers who lack the capability to measure the passive network transfer functions and replicate using line level circuits or DSP filters (heck, most of the audiophile speaker market can't even solder).
The Manual (see page 4)
Bi-wiring and bi-amping are covered.
Yes, the speakers came with shorting links.
Looks like a nice set of speakers. Enjoy the tweeters!

I have checked the manual and the links should be there. But looking at the back of the speakers, I have noticed the links are missing.
I am assuming that when these speakers were tested in the well known hi-fi store, they must have been bi-wired (as they meant to sound better). And when these speakers were delivered to me, they must have forgotton to put them back.😡
The silly thing on my part is that, I only noticed then after a couple of years later and for all these years, I have been listening to them, without the tweeter working.😕
I hope to make the best links I can, just to make the speakers work properly, either with speaker wire or solid copper wire.
Hi,
Simply strip the last 3" or so of your speaker
cable and feed it through both sets of links.
rgds, sreten.
