Alpair 7.3eN in a midTL (that’s the terminus of which you ask), a pair of CDD SDX7eN in a sealed enclosure. Xo about 200 Hz (active).

EL34 in Ultra Linear for 30 watts sound pretty nice and straight forward.I plan to build the EL34 version of the Baby Huey in UL mode so I expect about 30Watts out. According to what I've read recently, it seems that the amp should be rated at twice the speaker watts rating. So am I right in thinking that a 15 watt speaker should do?
Are the any other that I should be considering?
Thank you for reading!
Earl.
Makes me think of 1959 and the good old UL Tube Dynaco ST70.
With count less dynaco 2 way or 3 way speakers that people ran with them
HiFi drivers can range from 50 to 100 watt or more thermal ratings.
Speaker coils generally rate linear travel in Xmax
where speaker is considered to reach 10% distortion.
So depending on Box size/design a thermal rated 50 watt
speaker can reach Xmax around half or less rating.
Not really about thermal rating, its about desired SPL
and frequency response.
Another manufacturer for DIY is Visaton
and they have numerous 3 way, 2way, and broadband/fullrange designs
for Diy. Cabinet Dimensions/ drivers/ crossovers already designed.
I use web browser translator to read
The midrange W100S with Tweeter DT94
pretty well known proven design.
And then Combined with dual 6.5" or single 8" woofer
Such as the Alto 3C or Starlet 3 ways.
