I was looking up some ways to make a Karlson coupler for the FE167e (no one said it couldn't work) and on youtube they had audio samples with a picture of a K-coupler. Am I daft or are they in thinking that a youtube sound could express true fidelity?
Also the gainclone k-coupler discussion demanded a complicated (for me) password to register and get access.
Full range driver forum (where older Karlson discussions reside) is having problems which appear to be unresolved as well.

Yeah, I don't understand the need to post a video of your amp/speaker playing on YouTube either. A picture may be worth a thousand words but a video is usually just three minutes of wasted time.
I'm not sure about the password issues you seem to be having. I had issues until I left the "remember me" checkbox checked during log-on. It could be a cookie setting in your browser as well.

Hello Tom,
Well an extra long password with some capitals and some numbers plus alpha characters seems an overkill requirement.
The forum host sent me mail and said he'd register me to avoid registering bots. I never heard of this being a problem anywhere else. Oh well, I will get going with Karlson eventually.
I was never able to register on that forum. As far as YouTube - I like the comments 'wow! those sound great!'. They must be really fine to be able to improve the sound of your computer speakers.
Hi there,
Check out the "Register by email" thread over at the gainclone forum, it's quite simple.
REGISTER BY EMAIL/TERMS OF USE
FE167e could possibly work in a K8 size coupler. There have been some discussions about it's cousin, FE166 being suitable as well.
About the youtube videos, I agree that they cannot give the whole picture, but it can still be interesting if you recognize and accept the limiations of the medium.
Glad to see someone interested in Karlsons! 🙂

I completed the registration but never got a reply. I found this forum (very happy I did) and never bothered to reapply.
This is off topic too but what is going on with Single Driver Forum? I started there in the hobby about 10 years ago. Google and/or Firefox shows it as a suspect website which is rubbish. And I don't see the regular forum load from my toolbar link.
I will check out the K8. Any build plans you can link to so it's not a needle in a haystack?
And of course I don't know how to cut those 28 degree arcs either.
Perhaps a fresh thread is in order? I have seen scant discussion on the Karlson here. My new found interest is to get my windows back: from the driver position it looks like the box is a floor stander and pretty low.
Previously I have made the BIBs and one of the P10 tall designs plus some MLTLs with 4 inch drivers over the years.

Here is a sticky thread over at the gainclone forum that includes all the known factory plans:
Karlson Plans
Even though most images are hosted at imageshack and such and guests can see them too, I encourage you to register, as you will be able to get good support from the small but knowledgeable Karlson fanatics community (me included 🙂).
As for the K8, it seems to be the smallest of the factory models and fewer people seem to own them, factory or DIY. Bigger Karlsons generaly perform better, but I'm certain there is a way to have them sound good; as mentionned above, we're looking at FE166En.

Yes I am registered on there now and thanks for the acknowledgment. I could start a "Who wants to build a Karlson cabinet?" on here so as not to burden the old timers OR have to read a 1000 page thread like the BIB memorial Terry Cain thread started years ago.
But is a fesh thread a good idea? Things like cutting the patterns etc.
I do not want to make a 3 ft high cabinet anyway. Some of the K's seem to be 28 - 30 in high. So where to start-- here or there?
