just built and installed a mach 5 12" sub in friends 05' dodge regular cab (stock infinity 6 cd and speakers) and while it sounds very nice it only accentuates the fact that the rest of the speakers are well below hifi quality. haven't kept up with car audio these last 15 yrs. what are good tweeters and mids to use? should he use a package like hivi or peerless offer or put together something? if so, what? apparently the stock amp has a crossover built in but don't know the crossover point. if possible i would like to get the product from solen as they are my supplier of choice but whatever works.
edit - uses tweeters in dash, 6x9 mids in door, and 5" coaxials in rear
thanks

You might have to investigate if it is a stock HU does it EQ the speakers, does it have amps on/for the speakers? I tend to like the sound of boston acoustics and infinity speakers, but that is just preference. You can make a great system with separate drivers however it takes time to sort out, and you need to build passives or set it up active...meaning you need a HU that will do it or amps/crossovers capable of it.
thanks, that makes sense. i am hoping someone is familiar with the dodge/infinity system so i don't have to tear the whole truck apart to answer those questions. i too have enjoyed infinity in the past but these are either not their premium line drivers or there where sacrifices made in implimenting the final package.
anyone worked on this system before?
