I have a stack of lovely plywood off cuts from funiture remodel. I'd like a biuld a nice set of 6.5 book shelf speakers for the new office.
Does any one know of any designs for speakers I can source in Australia? Altronics and Jaycar have limited drivers.

There are plenty of driver options in Australia.
Wagner
SoundLabs
Speakerbits
Darcher Audio
The Loudspeaker Kit
Speakerbug for crossover and other parts for loudspeakers
For SEAS and other drivers not available in Australia see
Madisound USA
A good place to start looking at designs See Troelsgravesen's loudspeaker projects
Also, have a look around for some Jeff Bagby designs using SB Acoustics drivers.

Is it common in Australia and New Zealand to obtain European products from the US rather than Europe or one of the Asian distributors? For SEAS and other drivers not available in Australia see

And the funniest thing is that it is cheaper to get US drivers (Eminence) from Europe cheaper than getting from the US...
I've found that also. Freight from the US can be ridiculous making a purchase impractical even if the initial price is right. Much more reasonable and faster from the UK.
Another Aus site of interest may be Joe Rasmussen Pages

Loud Spekaer Kit
Nobody mentioned - the loudspeaker kit has $10 flat rate shipping this month, and also now has SB Acoustics drivers in addition to (lots of) Dayton products.
Darcher audio has lots of full range drivers (Mark Audio) but they seemed to be closed until end of may? not sure why.
