Between the original plan and the Nagoka-style which do you anticipate sounding better? Or to put it another way, if you were only going to build one, which would it be?

The 1st question i can't answer. The 2nd i can. We are going to build Bruce 1st not Sachico (because Bruce will fit in a piece of BB and i like how it looks more)

I may sound lame but I do not know what Bruce 1st and Sanchico enclosures are? I thought the orginal design is called a Frubel and I do not know what the Nagoka style one is called. I did a search and did not see any Bruce 1st.

It all started with the Frugel-Horn... http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=78581

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

that inspired Scootmoose to design a family of BVRs -- Harvey, Iris, & Bruce, and a set of Nagoka siblings Mikasa, Hiro, and Sachico.

This is Sachico http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=1110882#post1110882

Dave, Scott (purely in alphabetical order, as I don't know who to kick first)- you
:smash:
guys drive me bonkers!

#1 every night I hear my unused pair of 206E stirring in the basement

#2 last night I worked through this whole thread

#3 today I need a vottle of bodka to get rid of my headache ("good aftercer offinoon...no, I'm not in charge of this veehicksle, the manual says the gearbox is automatic")...so...

#4.1: Dave, if I got that right the Sashico suits the 206 better than the Bruce - or have I just not read the small print?

#4.2 Scott, not wanting to kick your gluteus maximus - but how is your track record as to your doctorate?

OK, being German I'm allowed to be a PITA.

Cheers all
Pit

Should do. I / we designed it primarily for the 206 with it's more powerful magnet, while the BVRs were generally intended to work with the higher Q units. I'm trying to think of ways to make it prettier though as currently it's just a big rectangular box, with no external mouth-flare, so it's a trifle slabby, if you know what I mean.

My doctoral track-record? Well, throwing false modesty aside, it's good enough, but it's not speaker or audio related: I'm a naval historian during the daylight hours. I specialise in armoured cruisers -see attached. This is one of my favourites: HMS King Alfred of the Drake class.

I don't know about that, but my guess is that Bruce being a BCR is better for the FE207 than Sachico. The target driver for both is the 206e.... Bruce just seems to be very tolerant of different drivers.

A small fraction. I took the ax and removed the branches from the 2 trees that had fallen into my speaker carcass burning area. The 2 big trees that came down in the front are still in-tact. One of them looks like it will yield some very nice burls.

Cool Photo!
My personal favorite is the USS Olympia, of the Great White Fleet's Protected Cruiser Class. Named, of course, for the State Capitol of Washington. Dewey's famous order: "You may fire when ready, Gridley" was issued from her deck in Manila Bay.
I did my undergraduate and graduate work in History and as a young man always enjoyed studying navels...

Uh, I meant Naval History.
